Pre-requisites: You need to be minimum age 14 yrs, Medically fit and a competent swimmer ....... Thats it !! Contact The Training Office Dave Robson by phone (Home : 0191 2970024 or mobile 07984 677152) to arrange a "Try Dive" on Monday Evenings At our pool session. |
We can then arrange a 'come and try' session at a mutually convenient date. Prepare to arrive no later than 7.45pm. (Because after 8 we will be in the water). The club will supply all the SCUBA equipment you require and if necessary the mask and fins but if you have your own then please bring these along with you. Dont forget your swiming costume & towel !! |

The session commences with a 10/15 min briefing and explanation on the pool side which will include all safety measures. This is followed by entry into the water at the shallow end.Depending on your capabilities the session extends to the deep end with the instructor demonstrating certain techniques and allowing the pupil to copy. The water session should last 25/30 mins with a short debrief either at the pool side or if time is short - in the foyer of the baths or the pub (Any excuse :-) |
Further information is given regarding
cost of membership (approx at his time about £130 joining fee followed
by £90/100 annual fee), application and medical details and importantly
cost of the equipment you will eventually need. Also the type of training you will receive i.e. pool training on Monday nights and lectures on Thursday nights followed by open water training culminating in you achieving 'BSAC Open Water Diver'. Club Activities include - dive trips, courses, hols, barbeques etc |
